The Norway program offers students the opportunity to enroll at the University of Oslo in a wide range of courses taught in English in a variety of disciplines. Students can take courses in such areas as Scandinavian Studies, Economics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Media and Technology, and Literature. Students have the option of taking an Intensive Beginners' Course in Norwegian in addition to their normal study program.
Scandinavian Urban Studies Term
Students across the social sciences seeking an English-language program in a non-traditional setting are invited to enroll in the 'Scandinavian Urban Studies Term' Fall semester program, based in Oslo, Norway. The SUST program explores the social welfare state in Norway and other Scandinavian countries, how it has developed, how society's needs are addressed, and challenges for the future. Courses, taught in English, are interconnected and include focus on sustainable development, global issues, art and literature. Based at the University of Oslo in Norway, Divided States of Europe examines the development of the European Union (EU), including its historical foundations and institutional basis, contemporary democratic and social challenges, and its expansion to include the former communist nation-states of Central and Eastern Europe. The program explores the relationship between the EU and globalization and in particular questions whether the EU adequately addresses the human dimensions of globalization.
