The program, taught by staff from the University of Canberra's National Institute of Sports Studies (NISS@UC), combines different aspects of the sporting industry through an interactive learning experience. This includes technical components of training and coaching and how the Australian media influence the sporting culture. It focuses on providing participants with the opportunity to observe and participate in activities that combine both theoretical and practical knowledge of Australian sport.

The program also expands into the area of recreational outdoor activities.
