Description

Offered through UC Irvine Summer Session in partnership with Sookmyung Women's University.

With Seoul as your backyard, you'll become engaged in coursework focused on modern Korean history, Korean literature and film, and Korean foreign policy, all taught by expert local Korean faculty. IN addition to your academic studies, you'll also acquire an in-depth knowledge of Korean history and culture and understand its traditions and values through first-hand experience.

After being picked-up at the airprot, you'll be transported to your on-campus dorms at the prestigious Sookmyung Women's University (the campus is open to males during the summer), located in the Yongsan-gu ("Dragon Hill") region of Seoul, one of the most ethnically diverse regions of Seoul. You'll have easy access to the Seoul subway line to explore the rest of the city and everything it has to offer.

University of California, Irvine's Mission Statement

Summer Session at UC Irvine provides administration of university-level undergraduate courses during two 5-week sessions and one 10-week session beginning in late June. Through open enrollment, we serve current UC Irvine students, visiting UC and other U.S. college students, international students, professionals and community members, and high school students who have completed their junior year. Summer Session makes it possible for students to make progress toward their degrees all year round, often making the difference for students who want to graduate on time. We offer an extensive selection of courses and students can choose from breadth requirements, coursework required for their major, or take courses to complete a minor. We act as an integral part of the Continuing Education branch of the university, supporting new program development and initiatives that serve the broad levels of the University.
