Experience Argentina through language or cultural immersion. You can complete an entire year of UCI Spanish courses in just one summer, take upper division Spanish courses with UCI Professor Horacio Legras, or study the film of Buenos Aires and Argentina.

With its gorgeous landscapes, cosmopolitan cities and lively culture, Argentina is a traveler's paradise. Live with a typical Argentinian family (home-stay style) in fabulous Buenos Aires with many opportunities to learn Spanish, watch fĂștbol (soccer), and dance the tango. You'll also find designer clothes and gourmet food at affordable prices and a lively night life. And if you are a nature lover, maybe you'll take a weekend adventure to Patagonia to view the breathtaking glacier carved landscapes and painted Andean deserts.

Day trip to San Antonio de Areco, Argentina
San Antonio de Areco is one of the oldest settlements in the pampas. The area has preserved many elements of the gaucho life style and the estancias in the area offer a recreation of the local countryside as it was more than one hundred years ago.

University of California, Irvine's Mission Statement

Summer Session at UC Irvine provides administration of university-level undergraduate courses during two 5-week sessions and one 10-week session beginning in late June. Through open enrollment, we serve current UC Irvine students, visiting UC and other U.S. college students, international students, professionals and community members, and high school students who have completed their junior year. Summer Session makes it possible for students to make progress toward their degrees all year round, often making the difference for students who want to graduate on time. We offer an extensive selection of courses and students can choose from breadth requirements, coursework required for their major, or take courses to complete a minor. We act as an integral part of the Continuing Education branch of the university, supporting new program development and initiatives that serve the broad levels of the University.
