Description
Only 12 miles from Christchurch, the largest city on the South Island of New Zealand, Lincoln University's beautiful campus is also near the small rural town of Lincoln. One of eight public universities in New Zealand, Lincoln University draws students from more than 60 nations worldwide. Students have access to the full range of offerings in the Christchurch area, including beaches, parks, bicycling, shops, galleries, cafes, theaters and nightclubs.
Activities for students include everything from rugby to wine-tasting, as well as those offered by the Lincoln Surf/Snowboard Club ('Surfing in summer and snowboarding in winter') and the Alpine Club (hiking, tramping, and skiing). The campus has tennis courts, a golf driving range, eateries, and a superb Recreation Centre with a variety of workout equipment. Lincoln University Students' Association (LUSA) organizes a full program of social and sporting activities throughout the year.
Lincoln has on-campus housing for 570 students. Each student living in on-campus housing has his or her own room. Students can choose to use the on-campus meal plans or cook for themselves in the self-catered halls.
