Description

The University of Newcastle was established in 1965 and hosts more than 17,000 students, of which 4,500 are international students. The university offers extensive student services ranging from academic support to sports and recreation facilities and more than 60 clubs and societies. Study abroad students can choose from more than 2,000 different courses, allowing them to make the most of their academic experience while in Australia.

Highlights

The University of Newcastle is located only about seven miles from the city and beaches, making it easy to find entertainment outside of class. Because of its proximity to the coast, Newcastle offers a laid-back atmosphere and favorable climate. It is also home to one of the world's top surfing competitions.

Students who have studied at Newcastle have been impressed with the variety of activities that can be found close to campus. There are numerous cafes and restaurants to choose from as well as a vibrant nightlife.
