Spanish by the Sea / the River
Location: Costa Rica: Turrialba; Panama: Bocas del Toro, Boquete
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: All year long.
Description
Spanish by the Sea / by the River is an organization with three language schools in Costa Rica and Panama, which is also specialized in adventures excursions and voluntary positions. Every school provides lodging and we offer the opportunity to stay with a local family as well. Of course you are also welcome if you simply want to study Spanish!
Our Spanish courses are based on the communicative approach, because it builds confident learners. All our teachers are native Spanish speakers and they work hard to create situations which are likely to promote communication.
The three language schools are located in Bocas del Toro and Boquete in Panama and in Turrialba in Costa Rica. Every school has its own characteristics and atmosphere. Bocas del Toro is situated at the Caribbean coast of Panama and is a relaxed beach town with a vibrant nightlife. Boquete is a small town in the Chiriqui province with its cool mountain climate. Turrialba is one of the best places to learn Spanish because of its friendly people.
Highlights
For students who want to travel, learn Spanish and experience the typical atmosphere of all three language schools, we offer the Traveling Classroom. By visiting each location, accompanied by a Spanish instructor, you will find yourself in a setting that enhances your learning. The professor will not only teach you Spanish along the way, but will also provide information about the local area as well as the culture of each region.
Every school offers its own specific adventure program. Our school in Bocas del Toro, Panama provides more water sport activities, like diving, kayaking and surfing, as it is situated at the Caribbean coast. At night there are salsa- and cooking classes. Be sure you do not miss the Friday night barbeque!
The school in Boquete is located in the Chiriqui province, which is a great hiking spot. Horseback riding, rafting, and various excursions to a coffee farm and a botanical garden are just a few possible activities. We also provide positions at various voluntary projects.
In Turrialba you can go for a two day rafting trip on the world famous Pacuare river and stay at our own camping site. The school also offers various other activities like cooking class, horseback riding, etc. Our school in Turrialba also has an extensive voluntary program.
