New York Citys artists have produced some of the worlds most challenging art, while the organizations that support them have flourished into powerful engines of the citys economy. In this course, visits to museums, galleries, auction houses, and artists studios will show you how art travels from creation to exhibition, while lectures and discussions will explore the art historical roots of recent trends in art such as Pop, Minimalism and Conceptual art.
