Description
Bring what you learn in class to life with ProWorld's Multi Country summer program. Start this once in a lifetime program in tropical San Ignacio, Belize, studying alongside other Belizean and international students. Students choose several course offerings, from anthropology to environmental science, while bringing fieldwork and excursions to ancient Mayan ruins, lush rainforests and rural communities in the culturally diverse, Caribbean nation of Belize. From there, travel to Oaxaca, Mexico and explore the fascinating overlap of pre-Hispanic cultures, Spanish colonial history and modern Mexico in a UNESCO World Heritage site. Coursework includes intensive Spanish and International Studies, and is complemented by excursions and experiential learning in a hands-on sustainable development project alongside community members.
Work on hands-on development projects alongside the community. Projects may include educational support, environmental conservation, public health outreach, women's rights, or small-business development. Final projects are selected by site directors based on community need.
Highlights
