Amman, 7th circle Amman, Jordan

Description

PLAJ is an Organization for education, whose goal is to teach foreign students Arabic language and Arabic culture in Jordan. The certificates are certified by the Ministry of Education, at the end of each semester with the corresponding credit hours.

The Program undertakes teaching Arabic language and two optional courses from among: Middle Eastern studies, history of the Middle East, Politics, diplomacy, international relations, Islamic studies, antiquities, gender issues in Jordan, etc. The Program provides students with cultural activities by preparing visitation schedules to the prominent historical and religious sites of the country, and much more.

Also, part of the program is to make sure that we locate proper housing (home-stay mode) for the students by finding families who are open to inter-cultural civilizations and willing to receive foreign students in their homes. An option for 'apartment renting' is also available.

What would make PLAJ different from any other such programs is that the founders have ample experience with foreign students, as having been hosting/ assisting/ helping foreign students for the past ten years. At times and upon request, indirect assistance has been rendered to these programs.

The students will enjoy top-quality services during their stay, starting from medical insurance, security, 24 hours general services. Utmost care will be given to secure that the students' stay is safe and that they are protected all the time of their stay in Jordan.

Highlights

The Program is designed to deliver Arabic language teaching to all non native speakers interested in learning the language.

The Program constitutes two parts: curricular and extra-curricular. The curricular part is the responsibility of the University of Jordan which supplies the students at the end of the semester with certificates of accredited hours, certified by the Ministry of Higher Education in Jordan.

The Program offers intensive Modern Standard Arabic language courses throughout the year: the fall and the spring semesters last for 16 weeks each and the summer semester lasts for 8 weeks. Nevertheless, it is preferable that the student arrives in Jordan four days prior to the start of the actual program which will be announced to him/her.

Students with previous knowledge of Arabic will sit for a standard Test, for the purpose of placement and level.

The duration in addition to the content of the course might be predetermined by the student(s) or the sending institution. Apart from the Arabic language and two other optional courses, areas of studies may also cover courses in diplomacy, international relations, religions, Islamic studies, gender issues and many more.
