Marbella Design Academy, founded in 1995, State Recognized by the Ministry of Education - Junta de Andalucia in Spain; code number: 29016884; listed at the website of the Ministry of Education in Spain.
As the Academy is State Recognised most students can obtain grants from their home countries to study at the Marbella Design Academy. Marbella Design Academy is the only international design Academy in Spain that has obtained state recognition from the Ministry of Education in Spain.
According to the new rules for student Visa application for Spain, it is a must for the foreign student can obtain a student Visa that the educational institution is state recognized. With 16 years of experience, the Marbella Design Academy has developed to be among the best design schools in the World.
The Academy is constantly progressing and adapting to the latest within design and technology. The mission of the institution is to provide a stimulating and complete design education, that lives up to the latest market demands, leading to a rewarding and well sought after profession with a near 100% employment rate among graduated students.
The aim is to develop all the necessary skills needed for the students to solve a wide variety of real life design challenges faced by professional designers today.
The students are taught to a BA Degree level and above using industry standard computer applications such as: AutoCad, 3D Studio Max, Director, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver etc. Advanced skills in these programs are a necessary factor for students to find future employment.
The Academy helps the students present their projects professionally and prepare them with all the skills needed to become among the World's top new designers and to support and develop individual creativity and nurture artistic skills.
The Academy prepares the students for the increasing demands of the market with respect to quality of presentation, economics, style, aesthetics and psychology relating to the design environment.
The graduated students at the Marbella Design Academy have so far an employment rate near 100%.
At the Marbella Design Academy you will receive an unforgettable learning experience and in Monda (3min walk away) and Marbella (15km away) a lively and safe student life.
The living costs are low in Monda. A furnished 3 bedroom house cost around 400 to 500 Euros a month. The students normally share and pay around 150 Euros each per month. Monda is a beautiful and secure place to live and to study. Most students live in Monda were they have created a lively after school group.
The students come from all over the World which gives the academy a very special cross-cultural friendly atmosphere. Tuition is given in small classes and in one to one sessions by the teachers and industry professionals alike, besides special invited famous guest lecturer within the industry.
Sunny Spain is a great place to study. The Students are inspired by the beautiful surroundings and architecture. There are many possibilities for outdoor leisure pursuits as Southern Spain has the best weather in Europe with 330 sunny days a year. A reason for why celebrities from all over the World have a house here.
Study hours: All students - 9:00 to 16:00, 5 days per week. A 50-min. lunch break is included. The student restaurant GAUDI serves healthy and excellent meals for only few Euros. The courses starts twice a year: In the beginning of January and in the middle of September.

* Higher Education in Design:
The Marbella Design Academy offers tuition to a high academic standard which is constantly updated according to the latest market demands of a professional design education. In the first year, for example, you will be introduced to professional software applications that are vital to becoming a successful designer.
* Diploma Courses (equivalent to Bachelor degree level):
- Interior Design (3 years)
- Graphic Design (3 years)
- Fashion Design (3 years)
* Study hours for the Diploma Courses: Tuition at Bachelor degree level.
- Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm (incl. a 45min lunch break).
- All classes are held in English, and in small groups. The courses start twice a year. You can enroll in January and in September.
Upon completion of the Diploma Course you will qualify for Diploma: Higher Education in Design.
* Spanish Tuition:
Two educations in one! When you take a 3 year international design education at Marbella Design Academy, you can choose to include Spanish tuition, 2 hours per week, in your course. The Spanish classes are held during the entire academic year, and throughout the duration of your course. This adds up to 75 hours of Spanish tuition each academic year.
At the end of your course you will graduate with a Higher Diploma in Art and Design, as well as you will graduate with a Diploma in Spanish. The Spanish classes are available to students who are taking a design education in: Interior Design, Graphic Design or Fashion Design. Please note that all other tuition is in English. The Spanish classes are not mandatory.
* Application Criteria:
- The minimum age for application is 17 but the students at the Academy currently range between 17 and 40 years of age with the average age being 23 years.
- High school diploma or a similar qualification. In exceptional circumstances students will be considered due to outstanding artistic talent.
* Accreditation and Awards:
The Marbella Design Academy stands for high professionalism within international Design Education. Marbella Design Academy is state-recognised by the Ministry of Education -Junta de Andalucia in Spain - the only international design school in Spain to achieve this recognition. As such the school, its tutors and the education offered are constantly under quality inspection by the Ministry of Education in Spain.
The Marbella Design Academy was Awarded the Costa del Sol Business Award 2009, for being the best foreign company integrated in Andalucia.
* Grants:
As the Marbella Design Academy is State Recognized, CODE 29016884, students from most countries can obtain grants to study at our Academy. Marbella Design Academy is the only international design Academy that is State Recognized in Spain.
* Exhibition:
Each year we hold an exhibition that showcases the students work produced during the academic year. The students yearly Exhibition and Design Shows are being held in our stunning building which as well houses a students restaurant GAUDI, offering 5 star meals for only 5EUR. The previous exhibitions have been great success. The students work are judged by the press and the media as well as by industry professionals. The standard of the students work are extremely high and the students are often head hunted to good jobs, by local and international companies.
