Newcastle, considered one of the best cities for students in all of England, is located in northeast England along the Tyne River. The city is a cultural hub as students from around the globe converge in this town to participate in a truly British academic experience. With easy access to the surrounding countryside as well as the rest of Europe, Newcastle is a great place for students to integrate themselves into the local culture.

Students will attend Newcastle University and find themselves located on a campus that merges a traditional academic setting and the wealth of opportunities offered in a lively cosmopolitan city. The University is located in the heart of the city and provides easy access to the local sights and sounds. Participants will enroll in courses with local and international students. Classes are taught by Newcastle University faculty.

The River Tyne separates the city into two areas, Newcastle to the North and Gateshead to the south. The boardwalk, or Quayside, along the north give the city its life. The Quayside boardwalk is a lively area full of shopping, bars, restaurants, and impressive views of the seven bridges that span the river. The bridges are some of the most recognizable attractions in the city.

Being just 8 miles from the coast, students will also be able to explore the surrounding countryside as it is one of Britain's best kept secrets and is home to the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall. Hop aboard the metro and jet out to the coast for a beach day or journey into the countryside where you can meander along Hadrian's Wall and explore the nature and beauty of all that is England.
