Interstudy provides a wide range of semester and yearlong study abroad opportunities throughout Ireland. Our partnerships in the British Isles date to our founding in 1980 and place Interstudy among the most experienced providers of facilitated direct enrollment study abroad programs in the UK and Ireland. Students can enroll in a broad range of courses and actively participate in university life while enjoying Interstudy organized excursions and staying connected to in country staff.
Galway, located on Ireland's west coast, has a thriving arts and social scene, rich sporting culture and reputation as a laid-back festival town. During the academic year, about twenty percent of Galway's population is students; the result is a lively town where you will be assured of a warm welcome. The internationally acclaimed Druid Theatre Company and the Taibhdhearc, Ireland's only Irish-speaking theater, along with Galway's forty-odd seasonal street parties and traditional music sessions held regularly in pubs, make Galway an irresistible social center. Galway is a fantastic base for exploring the rugged beauty of the West Coast of Ireland and with excellent bus, plane, and train connections to Dublin, the rest of Europe is easily accessible.

The NUI Galway has Colleges of Arts, Social Sciences, & Celtic Studies; Science; Business, Public Policy, & Law; Engineering & Informatics; and Medicine, Nursing, & Health Sciences. As a study abroad student, you may take a wide range of classes within most of the University's colleges and are encouraged to take courses in no more than two departments due to potential scheduling conflicts.
The Student Union runs a club, shop, photocopying services and a travel agency. Over 40 active sports clubs and 83 societies cater to most interests, and there is a comprehensive program of films, discos, concerts and other entertainment throughout the year. The ALIVE volunteer program provides opportunities to work on community projects in Ireland or abroad. The University's excellent sports facilities offer you a chance to balance your academic study with a wide range of sporting activities. You will live in university residences situated a ten minute walk from the main campus. You will have a single bedroom and share a kitchen, bathroom and common space with 4 to 6 students. Laundry facilities, a shop and café are available on site. Wireless internet is accessible at hot spots around campus.
