Description
Spend your spring break working with orphans, working with community development and earning Jacksonville University credit in International Studies or Geography. Participants have the opportunity to make a direct positive impact on the people of Ecuador. JU students can fulfill their community service requirement and make a difference in the lives of others while changing their own world perspectives. Based in Guayaquil, on the southwest coast of Ecuador, much of the country still remains wild and uncharted. It is home to the highest active volcano in the world, pristine Pacific beaches, and tropical rainforests as well as ancient Incan history now echoed through the lively Ecuadorian culture.

Qualifications
All applicants should have a desire to help the people of Ecuador, flexibility, self-motivation, openness to a new culture and a willingness to learn. Students must be flexible living in conditions that differ from in the States (plumbing, water, electricity).

Typical Volunteer
Participants will stay at a hotel located in downtown Guayaquil. Students will be roomed together in basic rooms experiencing life as many Ecuadorian travelers do. Participants on this program must be flexible, understanding that many amenities such as air conditioning may not be available. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.Age Range
