Description
Study abroad on the IES Abroad Santiago Health Studies Summer Program and enhance your classroom studies through practical experience in Chile's community-centered public health care system. This program is ideal for advanced Spanish students in pre-med studies, nursing, pharmacy, public health, hospital management, sociology, and other health-related professions.
Starting at the IES Abroad Center just east of San Cristobal Hill in the heart of Santiago, you will gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.
Highlights
The IES Abroad Santiago Health Studies Program allows students to observe health care in local clinics and hospitals and improve their medical Spanish through language courses.
* Gain first-hand experience through a guided Clinical Observation Internship focusing on patient care.
* Develop Spanish skills through a course in Spanish for Medical Practitioners.
* Experience Chilean culture by living in a homestay.
* Take exciting field trips to locations such as Valparaiso, a major Chilean port.
