IES Abroad European Union - Semester Program
Location: Germany: Freiburg
Term: Fall, Spring
Description
The European Union is not only an important political and economic institution, but a community of nearly 500 million citizens and one of the largest markets in the world. As the European Union continues to grow in size and influence, understanding the EU and the countries seeking membership, becomes key to understanding Europe and our world. With its central European location, the picturesque city of Freiburg makes an ideal starting point for the exploration of the European Union.
Offering extensive field study throughout Europe, the IES Abroad European Union Program allows you to experience first-hand the countries, institutions, and policies that make up the European Union. The program emphasizes the historical and institutional development of the EU and its current internal policies, issues of culture and multiculturalism, and relations with outside nations, providing outstanding academic opportunities for Political Science, International Relations, International Business, Economics, History, and European Culture Studies majors. Courses are taught in English, with the exception of a German-taught Political Science course.
