Description
The Gran Canaria School of Languages was founded in 1964 and is specialized in the teaching of Spanish to foreign students.
The courses offered are general Spanish, Spanish for specific purposes and DELE preparation. Classes can be held in groups or private tuition.
The school owns 3 buildings near each other, only a few meters from the beach of Las Palmas (Canteras Beach). In one of the buildings the school is located, the other buildings are the residences, one of which containing the cafeteria.
The school building has a maximum capacity of 80 students in 8 classrooms. It is a 2-storey construction with two Canarian patios used as a lounge connecting with offices, some classrooms and the computer room for internet access. On the second floor there are more classrooms, the library and the terrace, which can be used by the students as gathering and resting area. Each classroom is equipped with video and audio devices and a slide projector.
Highlights
The School has its own student residences: the Best Residence and the Plus Residence. Single and double rooms are available, all soundproof windows, private bathroom and are equipped with satellite TV, safety deposit box and internet access. There are common premises for all students equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, water-boiler, coffee-maker, dishes and cutlery for small meals only. No cooker nor pots or pans are available.
Besides tuition those students that have booked the accommodation receive breakfast and lunch on class days, and on weekends and bank holidays, dinner will be offered to them instead of lunch. The cook prepares Canarian and Spanish food, but students' requests will also be considered, even diet or vegetarian menus.
The school and the accommodation are all located just beside the Las Canteras beach and at walking distance from each other.
