Description
Study at Lorenzo de' Medici University in Rome or Florence! Study in Rome for summer or in Florence for a summer, semester, or year program! The programs vary in the emphasis on the Italian language element, and are thus designed to allow students with different backgrounds and personal preferences to choose how much time they would like to spend developing their Italian language skills. All students on semester programs take at least one three-credit Italian language course. Beyond the compulsory Italian language course, students can choose combinations of elective courses taught in English. Students attending courses during the summer are not required to take an Italian language course.
LdM's official transcript is issued by Marist College, a U.S. institution in New York accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Highlights
To experience life in Florence and join the ranks of famous Florentine students is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will make for an unforgettable experience. Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Florence is a magnificent city with a rich history. As the birth place of the Renaissance, Florence has also been home to some of the most prominent thinkers, artists, and architects in the history of western civilization.
As Italy's largest city, Rome offers a wealth of history surrounded by a truly modern European metropolis. While marble statues and ancient structures rise above the crowded streets, modern Romans dressed in the latest fashions speed over the cobblestones in their Fiat automobiles and Vespa scooters. This 2,000-year-old city has served as the heart of the Roman Empire, site of the Vatican, hub of world politics, and breeding ground for philosophical thought. As one of the few major European cities to escape the destruction of World War II, many ancient relics of the Eternal City remain standing today. Some of Rome's most recognizable monuments include the Colosseum, Pantheon, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. The juxtaposition of old and new will allow you to experience the thrill of Romes past, all the while enriching your own future for years to come!
