Description

This January 2013 harness the true spirit of international education by studying abroad in Cambodia, a country rich in history and cultural traditions. After arriving in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capitol and largest city, you will tour several museums including the Tuol Sleng, where you will be introduced to the outcomes and lingering effects of the Khmer Rouge regime's rule. From there students will participate in an intensive peacebuilding project in partnership with the local Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT). The workshop will grant participants unique access to the red light and slum areas in Phnam Penh where Human Trafficking is a serious issue. The program will then move on to Battambong where students will work with and learn from Buddhists for Development (BFD) and other local representatives and environmentalists. The program will conclude in Angkor Wat, a gorgeous 12th century temple built in the high classical style of Khmer architecture.
