Study abroad for a semester or a year at the Institute of Technology-Carlow with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, formerly known as GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. Your study abroad experience is all about you! GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is here to help you in your exploration throughout the study abroad experience. Our programs are designed so that our local and overseas staff are available 24 hours a day to support you in health and safety matters and enhance your study abroad experience. Through our planned activities and resident directors' personal recommendations for activities you can undertake while abroad, you will be directed on a path of personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional discovery. This team, which supports you throughout your experience, will ensure that you have the most fulfilling experience possible - one that is unique to you!
What Will You Discover?
At the Institute of Technology Carlow, every effort has been made to combine a stress-free location with top-level academic programs and facilities that are the leading edge in a number of key disciplines both nationally and internationally. In the current academic year, the Institute has a student body of almost 4,500 and an academic staff of 200. All of this in a town of 20,000 people with healthy industrial and business sectors.
Carlow, just 80 kilometers from Dublin, is one of the largest inland towns in the country and with its strong industrial base, makes an ideal choice for the location of an Institute of Technology campus. The Institute benefits from continuous investment by the Government in the student learning environment and boasts excellent computing, multimedia, and library facilities in a state-of-the-art Learning Resource Centre. The Institute is also internationally renowned for research in the areas of Biotechnology, Engineering, and Marketing.

Highlights
The International office organizes trips and special events for study abroad students. Recent trips have included hiking in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, a guided tour of Medieval Kilkenny City, and boat trips to the Aran Islands.
U.S. University Transcript option is available through our School of Record, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers a multi-day Bridging Cultures Program (in country). This program blends discussion, cultural exploration, and social gatherings for an informative and fun introduction to the country in which students will be living and studying abroad.
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad staff in the U.S. and abroad are available 24 hours a day for support of students, parents, and advisors. In addition to our London-based Resident Director, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad provides bilingual support staff at several of our sites in Europe to ensure that assistance is available in times of need and crisis.
