Highlights

Heredia, surrounded by towering volcanoes, is a popular destination for students who want to escape metropolitan life and get to know Costa Rican culture by living in a typical 'Tico' town. At the same time, the larger cities of Alajuela and San José, the country's capital, are just a short ride away, so there's always the opportunity to visit museums, go to the movies, see a play or eat out at any number of delicious restaurants.

If you want access to big city life while enjoying the comforts of a small town, Heredia is a great place to study Spanish.

Costa Rica Cultural Activities
