Description
The Sociology Program will introduce students to the diversity of immigrant and minority populations in Europe - in terms of language, ethnicity, religion and culture - and the challenges they fact in their host societies; with special opportunity to study Muslim and Jewish migrants/minorities. Examine the complexity of minority-majority relations and the breadth of responses to issues caused by migration as seen from the minorities, majorities, activists, academics, citizens, and by national, EU, and international decision-makers.
Highlights
Gain insights into violence from - from day-to-day harassment to holocaust & genocide - as a perennial component of minority-majority relations; and the history of migration, minorities & minority-majority relations in Europe. Apply what you're learning to new environments on study tours to Istanbul as well as Southern Sweden. You'll see the world through different eyes!
