1313 Fifth Street SE Suite 113 Minneapolis, MN 55414 United States

Description

Study Kierkegaard, Blixen, Tolstoy, Lars von Trier, Munch, Kandinsky, the Vikings, the Danish Golden Age, Popular Culture, Urban Issues, and more! The rich European Humanities curriculum lets you design a study of European topics according to your own needs and interests. The teaching combines underlying theories and subject matter with unique hands-on insights through studies in the field, in Copenhagen, in Denmark and abroad. The Danish academic tradition of critical, independent, inquisitive, and free approach to studying human and cultural phenomena influences research as well as teaching. Courses also examine important art forms - ballet, painting, literature - and major European and Scandinavian contributions to these.

Highlights

The core course European Memory & Identity explores the past and present of a particular region - the history, politics, anthropology, religion, urban life, art, and culture - then takes you to that place...choose between Czech Republic, France, or Germany...and learn how to "read" a new place; a traveler, rather than a tourist.
