Description

Spend a fall, spring, or summer term in Prague learning about Jewish history and culture in Eastern and Central Europe. This program offers the opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and study the rich history, culture, and literature of Central & Eastern Jewry. Courses include Jewish History of East and Central Europe, Politics and Culture, Jewish Literature, Destruction of European Jewry, Modern Jewish Thought, as well as East Central European Area Studies, Czech language classes and more. Students participate in community service projects with the Jewish community or in an optional internship in the fall/spring terms. There are also exciting travel opportunities, including a 9-day study trip to Poland to learn about the Jewish experience there, a weekend in Budapest, an overnight to the medieval castle town of Cesky Krumlov and a day at Terezin. A special film and lecture series, and many other activities are offered each week.
