Description

Deepen your understanding of Italian society by studying Italian art, language, history, economics and politics at this multi-faceted program in Florence. The program, jointly administered by Vanderbilt University, the Universita degli Studi di Firenze and CET, integrates students into the Italian culture through Italian housemates, a traveling seminar to Rome or Sicily and visits to Siena.

A variety of challenging courses takes students out of the classrooms and into the streets and museums of Florence and surrounding cities. Fall and spring semester students begin their term with two weeks of intensive Italian language. After that, students take one of the programs two core courses, Imagery and Public Space in Italy or Italian Cultural History, two or three elective courses and Italian language.

The summer program is open to beginning through intermediate language learners. Summer students take Italian language, Italian Cultural History and one elective course.
