EU Studies Semester Abroad Program - Fall or Spring

Description
The EU Studies program is designed to be an interdisciplinary program, bringing together a broad range of courses including political science, economics, business, management, history, art, languages, literature and culture.
This program is unique in that all courses are taught in English and students may choose from a broad range of courses offered by the University of Strasbourg. The program is open to both graduate and upper division undergraduate students from all accredited institutions.
The program is offered by the Georgia State University, in collaboration with the University of Strasbourg and in partnership with its on-site partner CEPA Europe.

* Cultural Activities:
In addition to the study program, an interesting cultural program with excursions to important historical and cultural sites is included in the program fee. The extensive cultural and professional program provides you with many wonderful opportunities to learn more about Europe and the European Union beyond books and the classroom.
For example:
Professional excursions to important EU institutions:
- France: visit the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the EURO Institute
- Germany: visit the Bundesbank (German Central Bank), the German Stock Exchange, and the German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) in Karlsruhe
- 3 day / 2 night trip to Brussels, Belgium and Luxembourg: Includes a round-trip transportation, accommodation, a group dinner while in Brussels, a visit to the European Court of Justice, the Ministere des Affaires Etrangeres de Luxembourg, and two additional visits to, for example: NATO, SHAPE, EU Commissions, Council of the European Union, US Mission and / or World Bank Group. An on-site CEPA coordinator will accompany your group.
Excursions to historical and cultural sites include, for example:
- Day tour with a private guide along the Alsatian wine route,visit an Alsatian winery and take part in a wine tasting
- Guided tour of the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle and visit the former concentration camp Struthof
- Guided boat tour of Strasbourg city
- Guided tour of the Historical Museum in Strasbourg
- Visit the Kronenbourg Brewery and take part in a beer tasting
- Company visit in the region near Strasbourg
- Visit an automobile company in Rastatt, Germany
- Day trip to the city of Heidelberg, Germany. Walking tour of the city and visit the famous Heidelberg Castle
Social Events: An opening and closing event as well as many evening events and day-time activities will be offered during the semester.

- Group pick-up & transfer from Frankfurt Airport to the Chateau
- Public transportation pass for Strasbourg for the program
- Ground transfers for the program activities and excursions
- Free use of bikes at the Chateau

* On-site coordinator:
An on-site CEPA coordinator will be available to you during the program for assistance and will meet with you regularly.
Students receive a cell phone to use for the duration of the program. (calling time is extra, phone needs to be returned at the end of the program)
* Insurance:
HTH insurance through GSU (Health, evacuation & repatriation) and the French Social Securite insurances are included in the program fee.
