Description
Central and East European Studies Program (CESP) is a one-semester program held in English focusing on issues of Central and East European economies, societies and cultures. It is offered at the University of Economics Prague and reviews the past and investigates the present and future of the developing economies, societies, politics, and languages of these countries.
Students of the program also have the opportunity to register in several university courses in fields such as finance, computers, psychology, game theory, and many more, which are also taught in English.
Highlights
Taking part in the cultural activities and field trips during the semester is an important part of being a student at CESP and gaining practical knowledge about the Czech Republic. A variety of field trips to famous Czech cities connected with excursions to famous firms, cultural field trips, and hands-on experiences are included in the program, for example:
- Weekly field trips to explore the great city of Prague and the surrounding area to gain a first-hand insight in this beautiful city and region
- Trip to Karlovy Vary
- Visit of the famous glass factory Moser
- Excursion to Cesk Krumlov
- Visit of the Budvar brewery
- Visit of the spa city Marianske Lazne
- Additional field trips and excursions as decided for each semester's itinerary

- The program accepts both graduate and undergraduate students. Admission is based on the student's university transcript, application, resume (CV), and English language knowledge. Application Requirements: a minimum GPA of 2.5 or an equivalent good standing at the home university; and at least one year (2 semesters) finished at his/her university.
