Description

Through this comprehensive study abroad program, students are given the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into a top-rated Irish university. Studying side-by-side with Irish students on a spacious, historic campus gives you the chance to embrace the social lifestyle of campus life in Galway. You may choose to take courses in your major, or choose courses from popular subject areas such as Irish Literature, Archaeology, Political Science and Sociology.

Highlights

Galway has more of a small-town and university feel to it than Dublin, and offers easy access to more of the traditional landscapes students might associate with Ireland, including the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and the Aran Islands. The Irish language thrives with folk in Connemara still speaking Irish as their native tongue. The arts thrive in this bohemian city, as music, theatrical production and literature are among the elements that contribute to this decidedly student-centered city's humble appeal. Nicknamed "Ireland's Cultural Heart," Galway offers students the ideal opportunity to explore traditional, yet vibrant, Irish culture through numerous festivals, celebrations and events. The city hosts the Galway Arts Festival every July, drawing more than 150,000 people for its international celebration of performing and visual arts. Other events worth savoring include the Galway Races in August and the Galway International Oyster Festival in September.
