Description

Students at the high intermediate level and above who wish to further their language acquisition and take content courses in Spanish are invited to participate in this comprehensive cultural and language immersion study abroad program. While you will be in class with other North American students, you will share facilities with host national students. The University of Seville offers courses in Humanities, focusing on language, culture and history.

Highlights

With a population less than 1 million, Seville offers you a small-town feel compared to Madrid and Barcelona. Located in Southern Spain, Seville is considered the guardian of all that is traditional Andalusian culture. Seville has a very centralized historic district, the largest in Europe, which is very pedestrian friendly. Renowned as the birthplace of flamenco dance, Seville also is home to stunning architecture, including the world's largest Gothic cathedral, La Giralda, and the Alcazar - a 14th Century palace. Engage in true Seville culture through a myriad of traditional Spanish entertainment, including bullfighting, flamenco dance and festivals, such as Semana Santa and Feria de Abril. Lining the streets are terrace cafés where people meet to enjoy their afternoon café con leche. Relax at a local tapas bar to enjoy good food and conversation after a day of strolling through the shaded, winding alleyways of the Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter.
