Are you serious about your Spanish language skills and looking to advance those skills through direct cultural and language immersion? Consider spending your summer in Costa Rica with CEA's Intensive Spanish Language Program. Students of all language levels are given the opportunity to focus on language improvement in a short timeframe. Regardless of the session a student chooses, this program allows for improvement of language skills through independent contact with local residents or by attending a Conversation Club, where students can meet Costa Rican students and share experiences.

Highlights

The capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose boasts about 1.4 million people and is situated in the Central Valley - guarded by majestic volcanoes and tropical rainforests. The city also is just a few hours away from the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. San Jose is considered the cradle of Costa Rica's 186-year-old democracy, and the country has not had a standing army since 1948. Costa Rica takes great pride in the fact that it has more teachers than policemen. Its former President, Oscar Arias, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987. Renowned for its natural beauty, enlightened conservation and friendly people, San Jose draws visitors from all over the world. CEA students can look forward to experiencing the Costa Rican attractions and lifestyle through trips to Arenal Volcano and hot spring pools, zip lining through Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and experiencing first-hand the unique, Jamaican English culture in Puerto Viejo.
