The postgraduate in Contemporary China Studies includes instruction about contemporary China in all of its aspects: economy, law, domestic politics, international relations, society, culture and language. This training is an excellent basis for those wishing to work and live in China. Internship:
We will send students to selected companies once students finish our Postgraduate programmes "Chinese Business Law" and "China Business Development"
Students can choose taking internship in China, Belgium or other European countries.
Language Course:
New way of learning Chinese language: how to type Chinese on your computer rather than spending lots of time to write. Once you are typing and seeing the characters frequently, you will know how to write them easily.
Level 1.1 Pronunciation, tones, spelling & writing regulation, basic words, cultural background, and basic conversation.
Level 1.2 Most often-used business words & conversation, its cultural background, basic grammar and computing Chinese.
Programme schedule
The postgraduate consists of two semesters and is completed in one academic year. Classes take place:
- from Monday through Friday,
- for an average of 25 hours a week
- during the day, except for the Modern Chinese courses.
* The course offers a Postgraduate Certificate and not a Master's Degree.
Highlights
* Comprehensive programme. Every aspect of contemporary China is addressed: language, culture, marketing, human resources management, economics, international relations, politics, society, art and law.
* We recognize the importance of research and professional experience. The second semester is fully dedicated to the students professional preferences. In order to make this possible, all compulsory courses are taught in the first semester and entail a certain degree of self-study.
* Depending on the availability of trainee posts, students who wish to acquire professional experience may opt for a four-month internship. Students who are more research oriented may opt for a research project consisting of writing a thesis or one or more papers on any subject dealt with in the programme. The third option is following specialized elective courses.
* Networking. Networking plays an important role in making business successful. Therefore, the postgraduate includes some networking events, thereby enhancing the students value on the labour market.
* Graduates will be able to:
- understand contemporary China
- reflect on future developments in China
- retrieve and analyse specialist literature
- conduct research on contemporary China
