Description
Located about 4 hours from either Mexico City or Guadalajara, Morelia is a university city with about 80,000 students studying at one of the four universities. Despite its size (population 800,000), the city is fairly compact with everything of interest within walking distance of the zycalo (central plaza). A climate of perpetual spring makes Morelia a nice destination.
School Facilities: A remodeled colonial house. 13 classrooms, outdoor patios where students take classes and socialize. Near downtown, a few blocks from the main plaza, a large park, post office, banks, various businesses, cafes. Capacity is 80 students/day.
Participants: Mainly from US, some Europeans. Tend to be serious about their study and immersion experience. Wide age range. Also, English is taught to locals.
Accreditation Memberships: Approved for credit through several US institutions including: University of Southern Mississippi.
Other: Also works well for the most advanced level students. The teachers are highly educated in many other subjects besides Spanish, which allows students substantial influence over what is covered in class when taking private classes.

Divided by the Tropic of Cancer into the temperate North and the tropical South, the country boasts snow-capped volcanoes, jungle clad beaches, deserts, archeological ruins, modern cities, upscale resorts and isolated villages.
