Head for St. Petersburg for your study abroad Russia experience. The mesmerizing city was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 to serve as Russia's great Window to the West. St. Petersburg remains to be one of the finest cities of the Baroque era with the splendors of past empires, lots of spectacle place such as palaces and riverside parks. Take a look at great art collections, check out world-renown ballet companies showcasing contemporary and classic works, explore the growing music scene, and so much more!
AIFS students take courses taught in English and Russian in art history, history, literature, political science, religion, sociology, and Russian language at St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University.
AIFS program fees include the basics and the extras: tuition housing, a meal allowance, London visit, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, trips to Moscow and Helsinki, and more.
Highlights
Study abroad in the most European Russian city. Founded in 1703 as Russias Window to the West, it still retains many of the Baroque splendors of the former empire, more bridges than Venice and a fairytale atmosphere of gold-domed churches, elaborate palaces and riverside parks.
Earn up to 18 credits at St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, where you will study a curriculum of Russian language paired with elective courses taught in English. Courses taught in Russian are available for advanced-level students. Study and socialize at the Russian Language Center, one mile away from the main University campus.
During your stay, you will enjoy visits such as Russian, Dostoevsky and Hermitage museums and Pavlovsk and Yusupov Palaces. Expand your horizons with excursions to Moscow; London, England; Helsinki, Finland; and Tallinn, Estonia.
