Description
Travel and study to the Eternal city! Studying in Rome takes you back 2700 years in history. You will truly be amazed and impressed by the classical prestige of ancient wonders like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, churches and palaces with Baroque and Renaissance influence that were built centuries ago. The dynamic and modern city of Rome is booming with a population of three million. You can surely take snapshots of the Italian heritage in almost every corner. The city is also perfectly located for students to explore one of the glorious heritages of European history.
AIFS students take courses offered by Richmond, The American International University in London, a U.S.-accredited university. Courses are taught in English in art history, communications, economics, history, international relations, literature, marketing, philosophy, political science and religion. All students take Italian language. Internships are available in international business and social science.
AIFS program fees include the basics and the extras: tuition, housing in apartments or an Italian home, meal vouchers, cultural activities and excursions, services of a Resident Director, trips to Venice, Naples, and Pompeii, and more.
Highlights
Study in a 3000 year old city that is a unique encyclopedia of living heritage and culture. Visit ancient monuments such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums.
Spend the first two weeks developing your Italian language skills during orientation in Florence. Then on to Rome where you will earn up to 17 credits studying Italian language plus a wide range of courses taught in English.
In your free time, attend the spectacular festivals, exhibits and events while you explore, discover and reflect on the magnificence of this amazing city. Getting around is easy as Rome has an excellent public transportation system.
Visit other parts of Italy on included excursions to Venice, Naples and Pompeii. Travel on the Optional AIFS Flight Package and begin your trip with a 3-day excursion to London, England en route to orientation.

- 2-week orientation in Florence, plus room, breakfast and dinner in a student residence or hotel
- Housing in apartments or in an Italian home
- Meal allowance - Restaurant vouchers for five breakfasts and five lunches or dinners a week

Optional Component:
- AIFS Flight Package includes visit to London Round trip flights U.S.-London, London - Italy, Italy - U.S. and round trip transfers between the airport and campus overseas. The flight package also includes a 3-day stopover in London on the way to campus/orientation.
