Description
Spend you time studying in England. Earn up to 15 credits at Richmond, The American International University in London--accredited by the United States and the UK. You can choose from a myriad of courses on regular study programs or even give your post-grad resume extra boost with out career-oriented Internship program.
Central London is just outside your door when you are living in AIFS residence halls in South Kensington, steps from Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park. Hop on the Tube and visit Covent Garden, Camden Market (where you can buy vintage clothes and jewelry at a bargain) or Piccadilly Circus. See some of the world's finest works of art at the National Gallery and then watch the sunset at Trafalgar Square while listening to street musicians.
Both options offer an extensive program of cultural activities in and around London.
Highlights
Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of British culture, a number of low-cost cultural activities and excursions are arranged.
The Social Coordinator plans a rich variety of activities to introduce students to life in London. Past events have included:
* Performance at Shakespeare's re-constructed Globe Theatre
* Trip on the London Eye for an aerial view of the city
* Film evenings
* Music concerts
* Trip to an English soccer game
* Visit to the ballet or a walking tour of Royal London
* Day trips including:
- Stonehenge
- Bath
- Cambridge
- Stratford-on-Avon
There is an additional fee for these activities, but they offer an inexpensive way to experience London's exciting cultural life and to see other parts of Britain. Professional guides escort trips to enhance the educational experience.
Imperial College (University of London) Student Union
For the duration of the semester, you will have associate membership of the Imperial College Student Union, providing access to all the clubs and societies that the Union offers. This is a great way to meet British and other international students with similar interests. You will also be able to use the facilities in the Student Union building which is just a few minutes walk from the Kensington campus.
