Description
Adventure beyond the pages of your text book, and dare to learn to the beat of a bendir drum. Morocco's cultural rhythms will sweep you away, expediting your Arabic language acquisition and allowing you to experience a complex and fascinating part of the developing world. This summer program allows you to live with a local Moroccan family and take classes with students from around the world at the Arabic Language Institute in Fes (ALIF). Numerous excursions take you out of the classroom, allowing you to immerse yourself in the local environment.
Highlights
This program is ideal for the adventurous student interested in learning Modern Arabic and Islamic Studies through cultural immersion. In addition to courses and excursions, you will have ample opportunity to explore the colorful sunbaked streets, bazaars, and mosques of Fes - the center of Morocco's cultural heritage. Fes is sometimes referred to as the city of 10,000 alleys, because of its many ancient roadways crisscrossing the city.
