MSc Energy Technology: Sustainable Energy Development
Location: Poland: Krakow
Description
Present energy systems must fulfill the sustainability principle. We should not adversely affect environment and economy prospects of our and future generations. To solve these contradictory aims we need knowledge in various fields which are involved in the analysis of energy systems development.
The course of sustainable energy development has two balanced groups of subjects. The first one is focused on energy technologies. Subjects studied are physics and chemistry of energy, contemporary energy technologies with priority on renewable technologies. The second group refers to energy planning and forecasting processes with subjects: management, economics, auditing, planning and forecasting. The teaching is concentrated on providing practical knowledge, thus classes, laboratories and projects dominate.
Our aim is to give the students ability to analyze and optimize plans of energy systems development. The selection of energy carriers and technologies with regard to economic, environmental and technological issues is the base of building harmonized development plans. The competence and knowledge of graduates constitute a firm base for their contribution in energy systems development.
