Research Abroad in Peru with The Humanity Exchange

The Humanity Exchange is honoured to host visiting scholars as they pursue research. If your research interests reflect an aspect of international development, we will work with you to set up a research project. Our Research Abroad Program is very flexible. You can research any length of time from two weeks to four months. We will make sure you have time to get to know the country of your placement; this is an invaluable way to compliment your research with a lived-in understanding of the local area. By learning more about the country, as well as it's people, you will benefit from a well-rounded learning experience. In most cases, we coordinate the many aspects of your research project before you arrive in-country. In order to ensure your research is as comprehensive as possible, ensuring validity and relevancy, we provide the following. - Identification of a suitable research partner (subjects and site) - Culturally appropriate methodology consultation - Translation from indigenous or local language into English Too often research is not undertaken because it is difficult to find appropriate research subjects and site. However, we know that in order to tackle issues of international development today, we have to investigate such issues scrupulously. It is absolutely imperative that your research benefit the population with whom you will be conducting your research. We will discuss how this can be done. Furthermore, we ask that all papers and publications arising from your research project be made available to the people with whom you conduct research. Please note: Participants have the option to learn Spanish during the program.
